Iron Harvest was released on PC in September 2020 ( steam, GOG, Epic game store) and was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S in October 2021. The developers have also redesigned the main menu, adjusted the balance in multiplayer, fixed environmental issues on several maps, performed control via a gamepad and received rewards for challenges.

In addition, the patch added a new multiplayer map “Forgotten Fortress” with the ruins of a large city and two rivers, designed for battles in a “three-on-three” format.

Accordingly, the mode is designed for repeated pass. The authors have been working on the world map campaign for the past few months. Besieged – The player’s once great empire is surrounded, struggling to unite far-flung enclaves and divide the factions that oppose it.ĪT official blog The developers said that they decided to create this mode because the vast majority of the project’s audience are PC users who play in single-player mode (this fact was confirmed by the statistics collected by the studio).Second Chance “(Second Chance”) – the allies have spread out on different sides of the world map, and the player has to defend himself against the strong factions surrounding him.The Underdog – Starting with three regions, the user must outwit the larger warring factions and seize every opportunity to grow and take over the continents.Users can create their own scenario with set parameters (starting region, difficulty, victory conditions, etc.) or choose one of three pre-made ones: Two more – Archipelago (islands, two opponents) and Schierland (a large continent with a lake, three enemy factions) – will be added in the coming months. In total, more than 40 new missions are offered, but so far only one map is available in the mode – Divided Continents with continents separated by an inland sea and three opponents. By conquering territories, users earn coins that can be spent on strengthening their regions, as well as expanding and improving the army.
#Iron harvest world map manual#
The combat phase takes place in manual or automatic mode. You maybe surprised how large the gyro aim community actually is as well with its growing popularity the last couple years, primarily in shooters. In the World Map Campaign, players navigate the world map, fight against AI enemies and develop their faction. Just curious to see if there could be expanded control options in this department to better utilize the hardware in controllers as it may help you guys gain some attention on console- if done well- to help expand accessibility for players.

But I no longer play on PC (console has become my main investment due to accessibility), so Im glad to see some devs make the jump here as I miss the genre. Im someone who adores the RTS genre since the original C&C and Age of Empire days along with Company of Heroes and Total War. There could be more option potentials because of this and just requires a bit of messing around. Could even mess with an option where moving the cursor to the edge of the screen pans the screen just like a mouse thus freeing up the thumbstick for some other use. It would also allow us to speed up the sensitivity for panning since the thumbstick no longer handles precision. Mimicking more of a mouse feeling than a traditional stick control to make precise and fast reactions with subtle movments in your wrist.

The way I see it is the thumbstick only pans the screen but our gyro aim controls the cursor pointer. Just a more intuitive "pointer" would be a big help. But gyro aim would be the best implementation for controllers as a substitute and the devs have done well to adapt the limited hotkeys for buttons. Granted, Keyboard and Mouse will always reign superior due to all the hotkey potentials (wouldnt mind support for this either).

Actually kinda surprised that no one in this genre has tried to take advantage of it yet on console to be honest. Ive played a couple of RTS games on consoles (Spellforce 3 being most recent) and as someone who has used Gyro Aim for a little while and is quite adept with it (from navigating menus, playing Dream, and within shooters as well), i can easily see where it would benefit this genre to create a more intuitive and faster response for players to make actions vs traditional stick aiming. I know this is a long shot but I made a post about PS5 having Motion Control (Gyro Aim) accessibility and was wondering if there could be any intentions in the future for Iron Harvest seeing that be implemented for the controls.
